Palm Jebel Ali Water Homes

Background

504 Water Homes (252 Water homes at each crescent A&E) – raised on platforms above the waters of the Arabian Gulf with their own optional private leisure boat berths.

Construction Process

Step 1 – 20% of total work
Marine works, causeways reclamation works, protective breakwaters (all these form the key elements of the development enabling the rest off the project to be built on)

Step 2 – 50% of total work
Infrastructure and utilities, piles and platform (foundation for the Water Homes and elevated walkway) and causeway bridges (connecting Water Homes causeway and Crescent).

Step 3 – 30% of total work
House component and landscaping

Step 2
Generally the infrastructure and utilities works, piles and platforms and causeway bridges works for the development have commenced.

• Causeway bridge construction work in progress

At Crescent E
• Piles and platforms work started

Step 3
• Detail design of the Water Homes house component completed
• Pre-qualification of specialist timber builders completed. Contract for house component expected to be awarded early 2010.
• First batch of Water Homes due for completion during the second half of 2011 and the balance of the Crescent A Water   Homes is scheduled for completion during 2012.
